Category Winners Determined By Nearly 440,000 Votes, Votes Collected Earlier This Year

SUMTER, S.C. — Caris Healthcare, providing a graceful and peaceful end-of-life journey for more than 40,000 patients across the Southeast, was recently named “Best in Hospice Care” for The Sumter Item’s “Best of Sumter” annual magazine. 

Recognized as one of the best citywide ballots in the nation, “Best of Sumter” honors more than 300 winners in business and industry, public service and education. The 2020 winners were chosen from 439,970 votes and each will receive a free window cling, framed photo recognition and will be listed in the magazine and on the winners’ website.

“It is an honor to serve the Sumter community, and we’re humbled to be named Best in Hospice Care this year,” said Lanaya Okoro, Administrator. “Thank you all for trusting us with your loved ones and for this prestigious award – we wear it proudly.”
