How about a Lamborghini?

When a patient is admitted into our care, one of the first things we talk about with them is their Three Most Important Things. Everyone’s Three Most Important Things are different. We have heard everything from Slim Jims and Dr. Pepper to peacocks, Clemson football, and reconnecting with family.

At the end of each visit, we ask, “Is there anything else we can do for you, I have the time?” And one of our patients, Tom, would reply, “A Lamborghini!” This went on for a few weeks. Both would chuckle, and continue on their days. However, one day our nurse, Jennifer Berry shared the story with her Knoxville team. Taking this as a great opportunity to make his day, our Caris rep, Kimberly Way purchased a model Lamborghini to surprise him with. He was tickled by the gift and wrote a thank you note to the team, ending it with, “Let’s go for a ride!”

Upon receipt of the note, the team thought, “Why stop there?” So began the search for a Lamborghini owner to volunteer to take our patient for a ride. After several weeks of asking around and posting to social media, a gentleman was found in Chattanooga. He very kindly drove to town to surprise Tom surrounded by members of our team. He shared, “I have never been so surprised!” The two enjoyed a lovely drive around town, and the team was thrilled to provide such a great experience for their patient.

Part of what makes Caris Healthcare special is our commitment to honor each patient’s Three Most Important Things. Each quarter, our offices compete to share the best story of honoring a patient’s Three Most Important Things, and this quarter Tom’s Lamborghini won. Congratulations, Team Knoxville for providing an outstanding experience!
