Caris Healthcare Supports Veterans With Café Events

Caris Healthcare continues its support of area veterans with its Veteran to Veteran Café events in Greeneville, TN, as part of a partnership with the organization We Honor Veterans. As a We Honor Veterans partner, Caris is able to meet the unique needs of veteran patients and their loved ones.

Veteran to Veteran Cafés provide a platform where veterans can meet, share and listen to one another as they enjoy refreshments.  The quarterly events are held at the Peggy Ann Bakery, an event co-sponsor, at 934 Snapps Ferry Road, Greeneville, TN 37745. Dates for this year’s events are 8:30-10:30 a.m., March 24, May 12, August 11, and November 10, 2022.

Caris Account Executive Renee Lowery, who frequently speaks to community groups, says, “Meeting with the veterans is indeed a major highlight of my career with Caris. Our veterans are so appreciative of just this small gesture. We are so privileged to honor them in this way.”

Because Caris has many patients who are veterans, the company enlists veteran volunteers, who possess a profound understanding of the needs of other veterans. Caris veteran volunteers continue to serve by making a difference in the lives of veteran patients and their loved ones.

We Honor Veterans prepares and supports hospice providers in caring for veterans of all conflicts. By recognizing the unique needs of America’s Veterans and their families, community providers, in partnership with VA staff, will learn how to accompany and guide them through their life stories toward a more peaceful ending.

Caris Volunteer Coordinator Tiffany Holt says, “I love talking to our veterans and hearing their stories. It is interesting to hear what branch they served in, where they were stationed, and some of their fondest memories. It is quite humbling to say the least.”
