Brad Rector Senior Vice President of Operations

bradA Licensed Nursing Home Administrator with more than 14 years of progressive experience with National HealthCare Corporation (NHC) Brad Rector joined Caris Healthcare in 2014 as a Regional Director of Operations and in April 2016 was promoted to his current position of Senior Vice President of Operations.

In that role Brad is responsible for providing strategic and operational planning across the organization, with senior level guidance on budgets, fiscal and cost management, leadership development, regulatory compliance, business development and market growth, payor relations, and customer relations. In January 2018 Brad will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer of Caris as part of a leadership succession announced in 2016 by Founder and CEO Norman McRae.

Brad began working at NHC, the highly regarded nursing center operator, while still in college, originally working as an intern in both Finance and facilities management. Early in his career he obtained his license as a certified nursing assistant, which fueled his desire to work in healthcare and provided him with the perspective of what it takes to provide hands-on, quality, compassionate care to the frail elderly. Brad joined NHC’s Administrator-in-Training program upon graduation and quickly rose through the NHC ranks, from assistant administrator to administrator. His eight-year tenure as administrator of NHC’s high-performing nursing center in Columbia, Tennessee, brought him into daily contact with Caris Healthcare and led to his decision to join the growing hospice care provider.

With Caris’ commitment to delivering world class hospice care to patients in all settings, including those who call a nursing center their home, Brad’s record of success at NHC forms a solid foundation for his work as Senior Vice President of Operations. Having been on the other side of the desk when Caris’ CEO and Chief Operating Officer made their regular visits to check in on how well Caris was meeting its Better Way promises, Brad brings to Caris a thorough understanding of the needs and concerns of nursing centers whose residents are receiving hospice care.

An active member of the community, Brad has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Maury County, Tennessee, Chamber of Commerce; Columbia, Tennessee, Children’s Museum; the Zion Christian Academy in Columbia, Tennessee; and People Helping People of Columbia, Tennessee.

A Nashville native, Brad spent most of his youth in the St. Louis area and graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
